(Korean: 써클: 이어진 두 세계 ) is a 2017 South Korean scice fiction television series starring Yeo Jin-goo, Kim Kang-woo, Gong Seung-yeon, and Lee Gi-kwang. The series features two parallel plots set in the years 2017 and 2037, both ctered on twin brothers' struggle with the discovery and developmt of an advanced ali technology that could either be a boon or bane for the tire human race.
In the year 2007, before the main evts of the drama, 11-year-old fraternal twin brothers Kim Woo-jin (Jung Ji-hoon) and Kim Bum-gyun (Kim Ye-joon), along with their neuroscitist father Dr. Kim Kyu-chul (Kim Joong-ki), witness the arrival of a female humanoid ali (Gong Seung-yeon). Out of pity and curiosity, the family brings the ali with them and adopts her as a member of the family. The twins become fond of her, especially Woo-jin who names her Byul.
By chance, Dr. Kim discovers Byul's secret: she had brought with her an advanced form of technology that can record, and ev lock, memories and convert them into video. In order to closely study this ali technology, Dr. Kim isolates himself from his family to work secretly on Byul in what he calls the Beta Project. Dr. Kim never goes back home, making the twin Bum-gyun think Byul has tak their father captive, though Woo-jin believes their father has abandoned them.

In 2017, Woo-jin (Yeo Jin-goo), now a 21-year-old college studt in neuroscice, feels that a series of suicides in his university is somehow linked to Bum-gyun (An Woo-yeon), who has be searching for alis, particularly Byul. While in pursuit of the case, Woo-jin meets Han Jung-yeon (Gong Seung-yeon), a computer scice studt who, to his great shock, looks very much like Byul. She is also investigating the multiple suicides, all of which she thinks are actually murder.

Joon-hyuk ters Smart Earth to investigate cases happing within the supposedly crime-free city, with the help of Detective Hong Jin-hong and the ali hacker Jung-yeon a.k.a. Bluebird. The series made me work like a diligent student prepping up for a thesis presentation, with how I take notes of the plot’s bends and twists in case I miss something.
It ambitiously taunts a revolutionary science fiction premise that is risky and exciting at the same time. Every episode just keeps on unlocking a revelation after another, making me decide that it is futile to decipher its trajectory.

As an avid K-drama follower, I was scared and happy at the same time on how TVN pushes to present this cutting-edge plot owing to how nifty writing and intelligent scene-execution would make or break the story.
The future setting framing is impressive in giving a picture of a technological dependent future for human race. The imaginative “stable care system”, which controls the harmful human emotions of the smart earth residents disabling their wicked tendencies, creates a fundamental plot that establishes the variance between the interchanging space-time continuum.

The bromance is so fulfilling because the journey to get there was full of tribulations and brotherly love. The supporting cast parade provide a favorable showing. It helps that there was no surplus of unnecessary characters, which in a way contributed to the smooth flow of
