Wangbijib BBQ Restaurant in Myeongdong 明洞王妃家傳統韓式烤肉- one of the better, most expensive meal during our budget travel in Seoul, South Korea. Despite the price, we had no regret trying it out. The varieties, combination and taste for Wangbijib BBQ Meat Set Meal worth every penny we paid for.
Wangbijib is famous for premium quality Korean beef, hence price is on the higher side for every ala-carte order of beef (from 24, 000won to over 30, 000won per portion). Pork meat selections are more affordable, recommend to get a mix of both. Other options on the menu include set meal, chicken ginseng soup, pancake, Korean cold noodles, etc..
There are 3 Wangbijib outlets in Myeongdong, a sign of good business. We went there for lunch after visiting Seoul N Tower. Since there’s only two of us, the urge for BBQ wasn’t really there. Plus, we just had Stone Meat BBQ the night before. Summergirl suggested to try out Wangbijib Set Meal, which said to be equally good, minus the hassle of grilling too.
Korea Town Bangkok: Best Korean Barbecues At Sukhumvit Plaza
Each order of BBQ set meal is complete with side dishes, cold noodles, salad, rice, beancurd soup and a good portion of meat – grilled and cut into pieces, ready to eat once served. We loved Grilled Beef over Grilled Pork Ribs, more tender, more flavourful with a layer of savoury-sweet marination sauce coated on it.
Winning point goes to sauce and meat, as we could barely trace the charcoal char-grill aroma. Have it with rice, or wrap the meat slices together with fresh lettuce, pajeori (spicy julienne scallion) and ssamjang (Korean soy bean paste mix)
Grilled Pork Ribs are tougher, needs lots of chew. Apparently, we like the cold noodles served aside. Chilling, a touch of spiciness but very appetizing. Great to balance up the heaviness from grilled meat.

Speaks about emptying everything? Not possible for us even we walked in with a hungry stomach. You need a big appetite to polish clean bits of everything served in Wangbijib Set Meal haha. The rice itself is already filling though. For next time, we will choose to come in group for a more enjoyable ala-carte BBQ lunch or dinner.
