Korean Restaurant Pv128

An all you can eat Korean BBQ meal for less than RM30 per person?! Now that's a really good deal there. I was at Korean BBQ House over at PV128 Setapak the other day to sample their offerings, and it's good. We had steamboat, and the obligatory pork belly BBQ. For the price we paid, we would definitely be back again. Check it out below.

Korean BBQ House offers two price selections, their normal pack and full pack, which goes for RM25 nett adult and RM29.99 nett adult respectively. Check out their menu below, which is simple enough. Children is priced at RM15 and RM18 nett. Do note however that there's a time limit to dine there, probably due to the popularity of this eatery. It's 1 hour and 30 minutes by the way.

FOOD

Every table has this boiling pot filled with delectable kimchi soup, all ready for us to drop our sliced pork, udong sari, ramen sari, and kimchi jeongol inside. The daily side dishes itself was already really good. Lots of fresh lettuce is given too. Remember, this is all refillable, so just flash those wooden tags with the dish name, and your table will be refilled.

Order their Kimchi Pancake and steam egg for that unmistakable Korean taste and feel. I had my fill of these, but what came next was even better! Yes, I couldn't wait for the Porkbelly and Boneless Chicken Thigh BBQ to be served to our table. They cook it in the kitchen, so you do not have to get your hands dirty to barbecue these delicious meat. Check them out below!

Just too lovely, the meat is barbecued to perfection, served on a hot platter straight to our table. The pork belly had these fatty layers which went well with the salt seasoning of this dish. Good stuff, so tasty and guess what? We re-ordered the pork belly a couple more times throughout the time we were dining there. Of course, the boneless chicken thigh BBQ is pretty decent. Both were served on the same platter.

There you have it. The next time you're nearby Setapak or in the vicinity, and am on the look out for some good Korean BBQ on a shoestring budget, look no further thanKorean BBQ House @ PV128 Setapak. While we were dining there, I noticed the place quickly filled up with diners, majority students, couples, and some families. We all love ourselves a good meal out.As the old saying goes, you wait ages for a bus then two come along at once (or more!). Is this true enough?

From a foodie point of view, I agreed with it as I’ve been waiting for a long time for a good value for $ Korean buffets and two came along in consecutive weeks. (Read about my previous Korean buffet HERE )

Currently has 2 outlets, PV128, Setapak and The Strand, Kota Damansara, we paid a visit to Korean Barbeque House at Setapak a few weeks ago.

The location is a bit tricky if you are not familiar with the layout of this building. Korean Barbeque House occupied a corner lot on first floor at PV128 with both indoor and al-fresco seating. No proper ventilation system was in sight but fret not because the meat grilling was done in the kitchen.

We were here for their All-You-Can-Eat promotion which comes with 2 choices, Normal Pack & Full Pack. The dish variety isn’t exceptionally extensive but for the price charged, I think it’s still a worthy deal. Please be reminded that there is time limited of one hour 30 minutes per session.

As I’ve mentioned earlier, the meat is grilled by the staff in the kitchen then served to our table. Pork belly was in its original flavor without any marinade, the thin meat slices were nicely grilled, perfectly charred on the outer and some came with crunchy texture. While the chicken thigh with minimal seasoning was equally scrumptious with pleasant smoky flavor.

Included in the Full Pack, we also had this Kimchi Shabu Shabu laden with cabbage, onion, carrot, bean curd and rice cakes. The broth was quite watery and mild in flavour, we added in a few spoons of kimchi to further enhance the taste. Fresh thinly sliced pork belly, Ramyeon and Udon are provided to complete the meal.

The steamed egg is another good stuff! Slightly wet on the top part resembled egg custard and the overall texture was tender. But make sure you savour this fast as the stone pot will further cook the egg.

Verdict: To be honest, the choices are quite limited but considering the price is very affordable for a rather wholesome Korean meal. You know what, I went to their Kota Damansara branch with my family 2 weeks after my meal here, hehe 😛 But If you not fond of All-You-Can-Eat, they still serve ala-carte menu with very reasonable price as well.
