(Updated 3 June 2016) Punggol has been transformed from a rural kampong into a modern waterfront town with lush greenery, resort style facilities and recreational amenities. The residents of Punggol now have a brand new Waterway Point shopping mall right next to the Punggol MRT Station. Waterway Point food options are targeted mainly at families and casual diners. There is a good variety and diverse cuisines are represented. Many familiar names are there but a few interesting eateries and less accustomed brands can also be found in the new mall.
Waterway Point is the four-storey retail component of Watertown, an integrated residential and retail development by the consortium of Frasers Centrepoint Limited, Far East Organization and Sekisui House Ltd.
The retail space which is spread over 4 irregularly shaped levels is large. There is an East Wing and a West Wing, each with different sections. It may take a while to get your bearing right and be able to navigate the mall without walking in circles. NTUC Finest Supermarket, Daiso, Best, Times, H&M and Uniglo are some of the retail tenants of this new mall in Punggol. Shaw Theatres, a cluster of banks, clinics and enrichment centres are also there. We took a quick walking tour of Waterway Point to check out Waterway Point food options.
