Wish You Netflix Korean

Produced in 2020, read our no spoiler review of Wish You: Your Melody is in My Heart’, the latest Korean BL drama on Netflix.

South Korea’s ‘Wish You’ may not have caused as much of a stir as Taiwan’s ‘Your Name Engraved Herein‘, when it joined Netflix’s roster on 15 January 2021. But the latest BL (Boys Love) offering from the Land of the Morning Calm is definitely worth a stream or two.

Wish

, was originally an 8-episode Korean web drama. But the version you see on Netflix is a full-length 101 minute long film.

Will K Drama Series 'if You Wish Upon Me' Be On Netflix?

Starring up-and-coming idols Kang In Soo and Lee Sang, the film centers around a keyboardist working in a record company played by Lee, who becomes smitten with a singer-songwriter played by Kang. The former persuades the latter to join his record company.

Personally, I have always found the mushy stylings of Korean dramas to be too sappy for my taste. But if you’re a fan of such dramas, then you will be glad to know that

For example, there is the classic cliché of opposites attract. Kang Inn Soo plays a strong headed extrovert while Lee’s character is frustratingly shy and introverted. There is also an unusually straight forward female love interest, which seems to have become a mainstay in every BL production.

Hope (2013 Film)

I predict that it’s just a matter of time before South Korea comes up with a BL drama that enjoys the feverish success of other K-Dramas such as

If You Wish Upon Me

This show was boring and quite unexciting for a while and when finally something happened between the main couple the drama was already over.

I'm aware it's a mini series but dramas like Where your Eyes linger prove that a lot of emotions and storytelling can be put in a mini series without seeming over the top or rushed.

I found this on Netflix. I am a new fan to BL. I found this touching, perhaps because I loved the title song and the score. I wanted it to be longer to explore the central relationship. For me it could easily expand to a series, as I enjoyed the supporting characters, as well. I appreciate gay dramas where it gets away from the many stresses of life today and can simply be romantic and also not necessarily explicit. i liked the leads and their music backgrounds lended credibility to their characters.

Master Pieces Of The World ❣💌

The actors were handsome and especially the song where they sang together was ethereal. This is an easy watch. But the whole romance story is just pieces of it. I didn't see any relationship development, when they started working together they became friends way to easily. The kiss scene was weird as Lee Sang's character was really timid person, and here he's grabing Kang In Soo's head like crazy and being rejected weirdly. The whole Kang In Soo's disappearance situation was off topic, theres no information about his parents and here he is running from the studio because of his parents being the higher ups there. Besides the ending was so confusing. Why did they show the foot prints going into the sea, it looked as if Kang In Soo killed himself and then he magically reappeared on Lee Sang's front door. The story itself is beautiful but not developed enough.

This review won't take long because there's not a great deal to discuss ... there were the makings of a genuine and tender portrait of same-sex love as it emerges from the shadows, but I found it token and superficial. There was very little by way of background to the two main characters and has already been pointed out, it traded in not much more than two pretty guys holding glances with each other. There was a lack of dilemma, a lack of bite. By the end of it also, I was bothered that the would be pop-star was not a gay actor. I don't mean for a minute that only gay people can play gay roles, but if a straight actor is going to play gay, then he needs to do it convincingly and with commitment. The ultimate 'I love you too' kiss left me feeling totally cheated. Kissing, and it's invariably coy depiction in Korean dramas I am well used to, but the boy-singer looked like he was terrified of catching Covid. It was a film without heart and without any frisson. Basically, a quick two-reeler to cash in on the 'pink pound'.

So glad to finally see a Korean gay love story. The refreshing thing about this film is that it is completely free from cheap gay references and homophobia. It's a lovely story about a guy who falls for a handsome singer at first sight, and how their friendship grows into something more. Beautiful and heartwarming.

Netflix Doubles Down On K Dramas With A $2.5 Billion Investment

I am truly amazed as to how far Korean movies has advance. I watch K-series on mental illness and now this bold giant step into the world of gays. It's like a coming out of K-movies/series. Beautiful music, fantastic script and direction. The two main characters are so well portrayed. If you are a K-movie fan, I urge you to not miss this show.

I truly loved this movie. The performance was outstanding. The music was amazing. I honestly wish to see a sequel or at least a series from the two main characters Kang In Soo and Sang Lee. They work very well together. I'd like to applaud the directors, the cast and the whole team for making such an emotionally capturing film. You did a great job everyone!! I wish I could have the opportunity to meet you in person to just say that I am truly your fan. With all my love and support. I wish you the best.

Watch

It's a verry beautiful story with great actors. I love this movie and I really hope there will become a next part.

Watch Wish You Were The One

I loved this movie so much. Not only is the movie it self good, but the soundtrack is beautiful! My favorite song from the entire soundtrack and movie would have to be the title track Wish You. The way the movie is emotional and some points, heartwarming, cute, and amazing with an incredible story line and plot is mind blowing. The last 10 minutes had me crying, kicking my feet with joy, and screaming out of happiness. I don't know how to react to this happiness! I recommend this so much to anyone who wants to watch a cute romance story with character and development. This movie gave me butterflies on some parts of how cute it was. I'm for sure rewatching and am currently looking for movies similar to this.
