Song In Korean Drama Black

Song In Korean Drama Black

I was already convinced when seeing the trailer and reading the synopsis. Just the posters were enough! I would have watched even if it wasn’t Song Seung Heon, but he’s a great bonus. And Go Ara is absolutely gorgeous, just my type of heroine.

I was completely blown away by the first episode. The music, cinematography, was all I expected. I was surprised to see Song Seung Heon as a clumsy detective wearing pink or yellow hoodies (LOL), and I was wondering what would happen to him. Some many things happened and there were already so many unanswered questions, I was hooked. When he woke up after being declared dead, that was so exciting!

The second episode was also good, and it provided even more mystery and unanswered questions. Actually, I wonder if there aren’t too many unanswered questions… I got confused with all the links between Han Moo Gang, his girlfriend, the mental hospital, the murder cases… I hope part of all this becomes entangled soon.

In the third episode, we get to learn about the grim reapers’ world. And surprise, the super cool and dark Song Seung Heon is not actually Han Moo Gang, but the grim reaper 444 who stole his body. Does it make sense that I felt disappointed? 444 is really a despicable character so far, and I already started to root for Han Moo Gang… So I’m confused. I really wonder what will happen. I can’t believe that the main character is going to be 444, and not Han Moo Gang…

I like Song Seung Heon a lot. He’s been there since the beginning for me, as he was in some of the very first dramas I’ve watched (Autumn in my Heart and Summer Scent), and then in many, many other dramas. Which leads me to… does this man ever age? Ok, he is only 41, which means he was very young when he started… but still… he looks exactly the same. Seeing him as the clumsy and childish Han Moo Gang and as the almighty 444 made me like him even more, because they are two sides of him I haven’t seen yet.

There were some comedic parts that didn’t feel too much out of place. I must admit I laughed a few times. Song Seung Heon watching Jang Hyuk in Voice and complaining that he’s too idiot to be a detective was quite hilarious.

I quite like Kim Dong Jun as Oh Man Soo. So far he seems to be better than a simple idol turned actor because of his cute face. But his brother… whoa. What a horrible character. I’m also curious about this part and their family story.
