Korean Drama Like Hi School Love On

Korean Drama Like Hi School Love On

A Brief Summary: An angel collides with a high school boy and gets stuck as human. She begins going to the same high school as the boy and learns what it is like to be human.

My first impression on this drama was that it was sweet and light-hearted. Something that would be uplifting. And it did just that. There were parts of it that made me smile and laugh. The idea of the angel was very clever, and her turning into human was well played.

Hi!

Like in Dream High, the main actors for this were idols: Woohyun and Sungyeol from Infinite. Don’t get me wrong, I love Infinite. However, the acting interfered with the scenes. There were touching scenes that could have been performed better. I do feel harsh saying this, though, because it was the first time acting for both Woohyun and Sungyeol. It’s not that their acting was bad, it just wasn’t good enough to correctly show some scenes.

Must Watch K Dramas About High School And First Loves (2021 Update)

I liked the characters a lot. This might have been the reason why I stayed. Kim Sae Ron was great at showing a clueless angel who didn’t understand humans at all: Seul Bi. She was so cute and quirky.

The love triangle was done pretty well. It frustrated you, but in the end, I still rooted for Woo Hyun all the way. I mean, Sungyeol and Seul Bi were cute, but Woo Hyun and Seul Bi had so much more chemistry.

Their family problems seemed understandable, but also kind of unexplained. Their mom is just about the worst mom ever. **SPOILER** She leaves her real child, Woo Hyun, so she wouldn’t upset her stepchild, Sungyeol? Just so she could seem like a better mom to her stepson? This is also at the same time that Miss Gong died. The person that had raised her child had just died, but she didn’t come to support him.

The Best High School Romance K Dramas For All The *kilig* Feels

Also, in my opinion, the thing with “sunbae” was kind of disgusting. “Sunbae” manipulated her life to get her to come back to him because he liked her. Kind of weird? No, very.

**SPOILER** The thing that really kind of ticked me off was when the amnesia was played. I mean, it was kind of predicted after the huge accident (another typical kdrama thing) that Seul Bi would lose her memory, but when I heard that she had lost all her memory, I just kind of sighed.

**SPOILER** The last episode also seemed really rushed. Like it went from “*gasp* Seul Bi lost her memory??” to “is that girl Seul Bi?” to “No, but I basically forgot her” to “she looks exactly like Seul Bi but she’s not!” to “she’s actually Seul Bi with a lost memory” to “sunbae is human!” to “she has a crush on Sungyeol!” to “why does this all look so familiar…? -Seul Bi” to “OMG Seul Bi got her memory back!” to “We love each other again and make other people cringe.” all within one episode. The last episode is supposed to be powerful and touching, but I just found it kind of rushed.

Prime Video: Hi! School

Overall, this drama wasn’t horribly bad, but there could have been lots of improvements, especially near the end. It was a nice, easy watch and I did enjoy it. Especially the cute couples.Hi!
