Fake Love Lyrics In Korean English

Fake Love Lyrics In Korean English

NOTES: Something special that happens in the lyrics, but is difficult to convey through English, is that the singer avoids using the word “I” throughout the entire song until the very last word. In my opinion, this poignant delay conveys that he finally begins to accept this reality and the pain of it; he is beginning to let them go. He stops trying to distance himself from the pain and realizes that he is the only one left trying to hold onto a lover who is not coming back. This theory seems to be supported by the story told in the music video as well.

Side Note: I took the liberty in my translation of taking the phrase “너와 지낸 밤을” (literally “the night spent with you”) to also signify the past memories of their relationship as well as it could be referring to the last night that they saw each other.

Fake

(1) It seems to be implied here that because everyone is too preoccupied and busy with their own concerns, they don’t notice him, so he can slow down a little, try breath a little easier.

(2)그림자is very often translated as shadow, but it also figuratively means “sadness”. As RM enjoys using figurative language, I assume that he enjoys both meanings of this word, but chose to use sadness as I found that a clearer translation for the sentence in English.

(3) The Korean word for “heels” here also has a figurative meaning of “the lowest level of one’s ability or mind”. As RM is such a poet, I would not be surprised if he meant this line literally and figuratively.

(4) The use of “arduous” is an attempt at conveying the interesting adjective that RM paired with the word “body”.고되다has no corresponding word in English, but seems to convey the meanings of difficult, hard, trying, tough, or arduous. The pairing of고된with몸seems be an atypical pairing, as the adjective seems to paired most often with the word for work. So translating it also creates an interesting figurative meaning.I take this to mean that RM feels that even existing in his body, living in it—living as a human—is difficult, hard, trying, etc. As well as with his own internal existential dilemmas and loneliness, it seems, maybe that RM is exhausted by living this thing called life and wonders if there is anyone who could accept him even with all of these complexities. Here’s another “Silly Little Trivia: Literal Choreography” thread for Fake Love. What's The Meaning Behind Bts Love Yourself: Tear Fake Love?

0:13, 0:15 JK makes a heart-like shape with his hands at “love itself” and clasps his hands as if in prayer at “I wish” (I wished/hoped/prayed love would be perfect in itself)

0:44, 0:48, 0:49 RM pulls JK in, they overlap, and switch places at RM’s “I changed everything”. RM then grabs JK’s hand at “(I don’t know) me” as if to signify he and JK are one/connected. It ends with both seemingly looking at each other through the mirror asking “who are you”

FAKE

1:00 JH and JK touch hands (getting into the mirroring position) at “at the mirror” and point fingers at each other at “talking”

1:05 JM controls the group as he sings “For you I could pretend to be happy” as if to visualize him controlling his actions and emotions

1:31, 1:32 Grabs themselves, throws it away, then shapes something with their hands at “sculpt a pretty lie”. The Korean word “sculpt/mold” used here is usually used for making pottery, a type of rice cake, and traditional alcohol – all that involve hands carefully shaping things

Fake

1:37, 1:39 Everyone gets into ‘marionette’ position at “your doll” and falls down as if the strings have been cut at “will become”

Bts: 'fake Love'

2:18 Fight sequence in the order of Suga walking by, with Jin grabbing Suga’s shoulder as he stands at the end during Suga’s verse – possibly a visualization of the course of internal struggle Suga experienced while changing himself to the point where he’s now unrecognizable?

2:30, 2:31, 2:38 Head in hands at “I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know why” and “I don’t know myself”

BTS:

3:32 Possible visual representation of the divided selves – RM, J, JH, JK, S making up the ‘walls’ of the body; and JM and V showing the two opposing selves (sad but acting happy, in pain but acting strong)

Komunita Služby Steam :: Návod :: Thundercharged Avenger [1.00.6]

3:47 J looks at his “all weaknesses”, while JK looks like he’s fighting something off – possibly visual representation of two selves, one acknowledging his weaknesses in defeat while the other tries to avoid it?

3:57 JK’s hand (flower) disappears leaving J hanging – which makes sense because the lyrics are “In a dream that can’t come true / I grew a flower that CAN’T bloom”
